It is with great pleasure to announce the creation of the new 3M
Renewable Energy Division, with the objective to bring 3M closer to our
customers and help maximize 3M’s responsiveness to this fast-growing
market. The new division is being formed to concentrate our efforts within
the critical space of solar, wind, biofuels and geothermal energy
generation, as well as energy conservation.
The new division will operate as a market-focused business, serving the
global renewable energy market, representing 3M as a single window to our
customers and simplifying your access to 3M’s broad range of products and
capabilities. By moving to a single point of contact, we are working to be
more responsive and create even greater value for our partners, customers
and the markets we serve. Advances in product quality, supply chain
synergies and development of critical new products are just a few major
improvements we plan to deliver to our customers through this new division.
The new division will become fully operational on January 1, 2009, and will
focus on two core businesses:
The Energy Generation business will concentrate its efforts on
products for the wind, solar, biofuels and geothermal segments.
The Energy Conservation business will focus on energy management
products, including the window films portfolio.
